This type of dirk belongs to the type I of Medvedskaya classification (Khorasani, 2002, p.378) and is very common among daggers and dirks attributed to Luristan. According to Moorey, this type was widely used in Western Iran since the 13th century B.C. and remained in use at least until the 9th century B.C.
