Samaria, City Coinage, Neapolis. Philip I & Philip II. Æ 28 (19.65 g), AD 244-249. Jugate busts right of Philip I and Philip II, both laureate, draped and cuirassed. Reverse: Marsyas standing right, holding wine skin and raising hand; before him, Nike standing facing, head left, supporting Mt. Gerizim surmounted by temple complex. Meshorer -; Rosenberger -. Pale green and lighter contrasting patina. A lovely example and quite rare. Choice Very Fine. Value $1,200 - UP
