Judaea, Ascalon. Æ 22 mm (11.15 g), ca. 31/0 BC. Uncertain year, but probably 74 (31/0 BC). Bearded male head (Askalos?) right. Reverse: AΣ, Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, palm branch over far shoulder; in left field, date (illegible) above dove standing left. Cf. Rosenberger 8; cf. Sofaer 34 (date and ethnic positions switched). cf. RPC I 4869 (same). Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $300 - UP
