MAGNA GRAECIA. CALABRIA, TARENTUM.
Silver nomos, circa 290-281 BC.
Phili- and Phi-, magistrates. Obv: nude warrior, wearing Phrygian helmet, on horseback right, brandishing spear held in right hand and holding two other spears and shield in left; ΦΙΛΙ below. Rev: Taras astride dolphin left, holding dolphin in extended right hand and spindle over left shoulder; ΦΙ to left, TAPAΣ downwards and ivy leaf to right, waves below.
In secure plastic holder, graded NGC Ch XF Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5, certification number 6625603-042.
