Subtle tone with golden shades on reverse side. Exquisitely struck, allowing this example to serve as a wondrous addition to an advanced cabinet of vintage Chinese numismatics. An incredibly popular and desirable type believed to have been a pattern issue, it now appears that these were, in fact, more medallic in nature, and meant to be given out upon the opening of the Peking Union Medical College (PUMC), the facade of which is displayed upon the reverse but the design, initially thought to celebrate then-president Hsu Shih-chang's 67th birthday. Tipo "Pavilion" Dollar. Suave pátina, más acentuada en el reverso, con atractivos tonos dorados. Un extraordinario y deseable ejemplar, que se creía que había sido una emisión de modelo, inicialmente pensado, para celebrar el 67º cumpleaños del entonces presidente Hsu Shih-chang, pero ahora parece que eran de naturaleza medallística y estaban destinados a ser entregados con motivo de la inauguración de la Facultad de Medicina de la Unión de Pekín, cuya fachada se muestra en el reverso.
