FRANCE: Napoleon, as First Consul, 1799-1804, AE medal, 1800, Bramsen-37, Laskey-XII, 41mm, The Battle of Marengo and the Passage of the St. Bernard bronze medal by Dubois & Denon, L'ARMÉE FRANCAISE / PASSE LE St. BERNARD / XXVIII FLOREAL AN VIII / MDCCC, with designer's names below, Victory guiding two horses harnessed to a piece of artillery, which they appear to be dragging over the rugged mountain // BATAILLE DE MARENGO / XXV PRAIRIAL, AN VIII / MDCCC around a ring, on which are suspended eleven keys; on each side a palm branch encircling them, appears to be an early strike, but uncertain due to encapsulation, as edge is not visible, NGC graded MS64 BR.
