Description

TUNIS: Ali Bey, 1882-1902, AV 25 piastres / 15 francs (4.86g), Tunis, AH1306 (1888), KM-Pn13 variety, unpublished pattern struck on cut down French Napoleon III (1852-70) gold 20 franc coin of type KM-781, Unc, RRRR, ex Ahmad Sultan Collection. An issue of the French protectorate of Tunisia, which was established in 1881. Krause lists this type with the date 1305 but the line drawing they use clearly depicts a 1304 dated example. We could find no reference for the 1306 date.
