Description

QARMATID: al-Hasan b. Ahmad, 972-975, AV dinar (4.18g), Filastin, AH361, A-685G, citing al-Hasan b. Ahmad by name, together with the title al-sayyid al-ru'asà, overstruck on a dinar of the Fatimid Imam al-Mu'izz, from which the central circle (with the pellet at the center) is clearly visible on both sides, traces of other portions of the Fatimid host also visible, VF, RRR. Parts of the date are obscured by traces of the Fatimid host, but can be securely confirmed, as the coin was struck from the same dies as an example of Filastin 361 that sold in the Islamic Coin Auction 20, Lot 374, in May 2012.

Estimate: USD 3000 - 3500
