PARTHIAN KINGDOM: Arsakes I, ca. 247-211, AR drachm (4.35g), Hekatompylos, Shore-3, Sunrise-240 (same dies), A&S-5, head left, beardless, wearing bashlyk // APΣAKOY to reign, archer seated right on backless throne, holding bow, Greek letter A to right, EF, RR. This type has traditionally been assigned to Arsakes II, but Dr. Assar has reassigned it to Arsakes I, based on the letter A in the reverse field, with the same type bearing an eagle instead of the letter A assigned to Arsakes II by all scholars.
