Description

GREAT MONGOLS: Anonymous, ca. 1220-1280, AV burial bracteate (0.30g), blundered Arabic legend in the center, beginning with 'azza man …, probably ending in man tama', thus some good luck phrase, with what is likely another "good luck " Arabic phrase in the margin, chipped (likely in removal from whatever it was attached to), EF, RRR. We have not deciphered the central phrase, but the style resembled some later Great Mongol and very early Golden Horde pieces. It was found together with a copper coin of Bukhara AH617 (Zeno-213042).

Estimate: USD 300-400
