INDIA: LOT of 4 interesting fanams & 1/4 fanams, Vijayanagar: (2 pcs, both 1/4 fanam) uncertain type with deer left on the obverse, traces of one or two Nagari letters on the reverse; assigned by the consignor's source to the Saluva period (1486-1505), both EF and at least RR; also an unusual full fanam type with Devanagari legends both sides, unattributed and presumed unpublished (EF); and Ikkeri: type Herrli 2.01 derived from the 1/2 pagoda of Sadashiva Nayaka (ca. 1545-1567), struck 18th century (VG-Fine); retail value $200, lot of 4 pieces, ex Ian Todd Collection.
