BOMBAY PRESIDENCY: AR ½ rupee (5.80g), Surat, year 47, Stv-6.171, KM-211.1, the normal Bombay issue bears the frozen year 46, but others are known with year 44, 45, 47, and possibly also 48 and 49; all dated other than 46 are at least very rare, EF, RR, ex Charles W. Lueders III Collection. Some scholars have suggested that these other dates were actually issues of the French East India Company, but this is only conjectural.
