SASANIAN KINGDOM: "Peroz", 457-484, AR drachm (3.87g), GW (probably Gorgan), G-174/76, interesting issue, without the king's name, and without both mint and the normal symbol to left on the reverse; probably a local issue during the many wars fought by Peroz in the east, choice AU.
UPDATE: Lots 1651 and 1652 are not regular issues of the Sasanian Peroz, but Hunnic imitations of Gobl-176 of Peroz, and now assigned to the Hephthalites struck after their conquest of most of Khorasan and killing of the Sasanian king Peroz in 484. They belong to a complex series which I believe were struck from approximately 486 until sometime in the 490s.
