SRI LANKA: Democratic Socialist Republic, 1 cent, 1978, KM-Pn1, private pattern struck in aluminum, a superb specimen quality example! PCGS graded Specimen 65. This coin was initially listed by Krause as a pattern with the catalog number of Pn1, however the mint for Sri Lanka did not produce these. Overall, identical to the one-cent type of KM-137, but it differs greatly in size and the engraving is cruder with several raised spots in the field. The origin of these pieces is currently unknown.
