PCGS graded MS63 BN, ex Louis Baptiste DuPont Collection. The siege of Antwerp (Anvers) took place during the War of the Sixth Coalition and lasted from January 14, 1814 to May 4, 1814. The French Antwerp coins were a necessity money issued while Antwerp, under Lazare Carnot, was besieged by the Allies. These coins were minted from captured cannons.
