★ Rare and Appealing March 13, 1751 Russian Ducat ★
RUSSIA. Ducat, 1751 MAP:13. Elizabeth. PCGS Genuine--Bent, VF Details Gold Shield.
Fr-110, Bit-37, Sev-160, KM-C-31.1, Dia-235; Uzd-69. A very appealing example of the St. Andrew style Ducat with month and day in exergue on reverse. Pale orange-gold, deepening in hue at the obverse peripheries and in the protected areas of the devices and legends. Flan is slightly wavy, as seen on even high-grade Russian ducats, and we note a shallow scuff from left obverse field to Elizabeth's chest. Most examples of this the 1751-dated issue in archived auction records are of the April issue, while we note only 4 auction appearances of just 3 different examples of the March 13 issue going back to the year 2000.
