ROMAN REPUBLIC. C. Hosidus C.f. Geta. AR Denarius (3.72 gms), Rome Mint, 64 B.C. NGC MS★, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5.
Cr-407/2; Syd-903. Obverse: III VIR GETA, diademed and draped bust of Diana right, with bow and quiver over shoulder; Reverse: Calydonian Boar standing right, pierced by spear and harried by hound below; C HOSIDI C F in exergue. An ever popular type owing to the animal iconography on the reverse, this attractively toned example exhibits a highly vibrant palette on the obverse, mostly comprised of violet, cobalt, and goldenrod. Furthering its appeal, the radiant luster is beyond compare, wholly transfixing the viewer.
