THRACE. Kingdom of Thrace. Lysimachos, 323-281 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (16.98 gms), Pergamon Mint, ca. 287-282 B.C. NGC Ch EF★, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5. Fine Style.
Thompson-218; HGC-3.2, 1750m. Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon; Reverse: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left on throne, holding crowning Nike and resting elbow upon shield; spear behind; crescent to outer left, cult statue to inner left; monogram in exergue. A well centered and boldly struck example, featuring a good deal of remaining luster along with alluring golden highlights around the fine style portrait and devices. A piece that exudes tremendous eye appeal.
