Description

Elusive Fangbao of Emperor Guangxu
(t) CHINA. Jiangxi Fangbao. Provincial Square Ingots. Silver 50 Tael Local Tax Ingot, Year 26 (1900). Emperor Guangxu (De Zong). Graded AU 53 by Zhong Qian Ping Ji Grading Company.
BMC-Class VIII Group A. Weight: 1880.5 gms. "萬年县" (Wannian County), "光绪贰拾陆年捌月" (Guangxu Period 26th year 8th month), "伍拾两匠余顺" (50 Taels, Smith: Yu Shun). This interesting large format ingot displays lovely soft gray patina with areas of richer coloration and minor earthen deposits throughout. The stamps are somewhat shallow with some that are slightly cock-eyed, but mostly clear. Several test cuts are noticed on the wings mentioned for accuracy. A handsome and seldom encountered type that is sure to catch the attention of many collectors.

光緒贰拾陆年捌月江西方寶伍拾兩大錠。
重1880.5克。"萬年县"、"光緒貳拾陸年捌月"、"伍拾両匠余順"。妙趣橫生的大規格銀錠。灰色包漿柔美,局部色澤更深,通體輕微積土。 戳記稍淺,部分輕微歪曲,但大致清晰。 翼上有若干試裁,特此說明。少見版別,品相俊俏,必定引來藏家關注。 (t) On September 1, 2019, the United States enacted new tariffs on collector's items of Chinese origin, including bullion and numismatic coins and banknotes.
