Description

The Sole Mint State "Two Stripes" Sar in the PCGS Census
(t) CHINA. Sinkiang. Sar (Tael), Year 1 (1912). Urumchi (Tihwa) Mint. PCGS MS-61.
L&M-834; K-1251; KM-Y-42; WS-1315; SGSC-226 (this coin illustrated). Ration coinage. Type 1 (flags with two strips of arabesques). A wholly unrivaled specimen, this type is already VERY RARE, and stands as an exceedingly difficult specimen in more elite, problem-free states of preservation, as is the case here. A steely gray hue dominates as the backdrop, with burnished amber notes populating throughout. Meanwhile, a fairly sharp strike for the type as well as an abundance of glistening brilliance further entertains the eye. A monumental offering and tremendous chance for the advanced collector of the Sinkiang series.
From the SGSC Collection.

(t) On September 1, 2019, the United States enacted new tariffs on collector's items of Chinese origin, including bullion and numismatic coins and banknotes.
