FRANCE. Banque de France. 5000 Francs, 11.1.1918. P-76. PMG Very Fine 20.
A deceptively difficult high denomination type from the Banque de France that while initially prepared towards the end of World War I (utilizing the design of the 1891 1,000 Franc) but did not actually enter circulation until two decades later, on the eve of the next World War. This example faces up very well, and offers lovely color and good paper quality. A challenging type surely on the wish list of many collectors. PMG Comments "Large Tear, Pinholes."
