Obverse: seated woman at left in classical robes, her right foot atop a pile of books, with gears, calipers, chemical instruments strewn across the ground, her left hand lifting from pensive post of holding up her chin, her right hand pointing to an airborne zeppelin in the distance, motto echoing Vergil's Aeneid ("Thus one journeys to the stars"), SIC ITVR AD ASTRA. BALLONS DIRIGEABLES EXPERIANCES A L'ETABLISSEMENT DE CHALAIS MEVDON 1885 around; Reverse: seated Daedalus fixing wings to Icarus standing to his right with motto ("Hard work conquers all things"), LABOR IMPROBVS OMNIA VINCIT around. Rim: Stamped "BRONZE" with cornucopia hallmark.
