1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.17-gg.2, W-3635. Rarity-5. Draped Bust Left, ETLIR. VF-25 (PCGS).
135.2 grains. Light olive brown with only a couple of trivial flaws and some natural roughness from planchet texture that did not fully strike out. Minor handling marks only, with perhaps only the small dig left of the effigy's nose being worthy of mention. Glossy and hard surfaces with fairly good centering and excellent clarity of all the peripheral details save for the top of Liberty's head and pole.
PCGS# 685142.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier from our (Stack's) sale of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part IX, May 2005, lot 389; Lawrence R. Stack Collection, November 2006.
