MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1754-Mo MF. Mexico City Mint. Ferdinand VI. PCGS AU-55.
KM-104.2; Cal-485; Gil-M-8-29; Yonaka-M8-54C. Variety with "imperial" crown atop left pillar. This date is the first instance of the imperial-style crown on columnarios from any of the colonial mints. The present example is particularly charming, with a bold strike yielding great detail on areas such as the well-defined landmasses on the globes. Its problem-free surfaces feature a dusty gray tone overall with glints of luster issuing from the fields.
