Lovely Ornate Back $10 Treasury
Fr. 366. 1890 $10 Treasury Note. PMG Choice About Uncirculated 58 EPQ.
The first Friedberg of a series that was short-lived by virtue of Treasury disfavor, this note is representative of a type issued through the late 1890s. Featuring a portrait of General Phillip H. Sheridan at center along with a large spiked reddish-brown Treasury Seal at right in conjunction with the engraved signatures of Rosecrans and Huston this Friedberg does not share the distinction of having a small hoard Uncirculated examples available to collectors like several successive Friedbergs. Instead, out of 179 notes recorded by the likes of Track & Price just four Uncirculated notes are enumerated by the PMG Population Report. A rare opportunity for the condition-focused collector to add an example of a major conditional rarity to their collection. PMG Pop 2/4 Finer.
From the Porter Collection.
