FRANCE. National Convention. Steel Puncheon for Medallic Trial, ND (1792). Paris Mint. AS MADE.
cf. Maz-377 (for the obv. design). Diameter: 47mm; Thickness: 19mm. This engaging puncheon, featuring one of Brézin's designs for a medallic trial, displays a serpent-entwined caduceus that is also surmounted by a Phrygian cap. Steely gray in nature, with deep coloring throughout, and no doubt an EXTREMELY RARE offering.
