FRANCE. Constitution. Octagonal White Metal Cliché or Trial for Stamping Block, ND (ca. 1792). Paris Mint. PCGS MS-62.
An exceptionally intriguing and EXTREMELY RARE facet of the striking process, this engraver's piece displays all the letters and symbols of the Constitutional 3 Livres by Dupré, with a retrograde script inscription at the bottom reading " Lettres pour l'écu de 3H "
