Obverse: Schools coat of arms in gold, blue, white and red enamels within openwork wreath of thistles, banner above and below with inscription DANIEL STEWART'S COLLEGE / NEVER UNPREPARED; Reverse: Hand engraved inscription DUX MEDAL / 1935 / WILLIAM ETTRICK THOMSON, hallmarks on wreath. Nicely preserved and very attractive, this handsome piece displays complete intact enamels and attractive dusty gold patina. The reverse does exhibit signs of being polished long ago, now with light attractive tone near the edges. A seldom encountered item that is certain to add depth to the next collection it enters.
