AUSTRIA. Order of Franz Joseph Commander's Cross and Star of Commander Set (2 pcs), ND (Instituted 1869). UNCIRCULATED.
1) Star of Commander Breast Star (Silver). Baroc-652/653. 79.85 mm. Weight: 61.95 gms. Obverse: Eight-pointed radiant star with red and black enameled crowned Imperial Austrian coat of arms superimposed; Reverse: Makers mark central medallion with Austrian coat of arms, legend around VINC. MAYEH'S SOHENE / WIEN. Hallmarks on bottom tips of star. 2) Commander's Cross (Silver-gilt). Baroc-643. 69.35 x 37.31 mm. Weight: 29.44 gms. Obverse: Gold rimmed red enamel cross superimposed on a black enamel and gold double headed Austrian eagle, central white medallion with initials "FJ"; Reverse: Similar but with date of the order's institution replacing initials. With ribbon. Housed in the original case of issue. The enamels are intact with no noticeable chips or cracks.
