1911-D Indian Half Eagle. AU-58 (PCGS).
Like the '11-D quarter eagle, the 1911-D half eagle is scarce in all grades, and popular as such. The present example shows a little friction on the fields, a rich gold patina, and boldly defined details. Only 72,500 were struck, and this date is challenging to find Mint State grades. This popular key Indian Head $5 will delight anyone working on a set of this short, but extremely challenging series.
