New York, New York. Astor Bank. 18xx $1. Haxby 1450-001-G2. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Proof.

From our 2014 auction of the Peter Mayer Collection where it was described, "Baldwin, Adams & Co. India paper mounted on original card. Top, Astor Library custom to title and type. Left, girl with sheaf of wheat in oval. Lower right, John Jacob Astor. Great title and vignette combination. Not too many known and only one sheet, lot 1190, in the 1990 ABN sale with three impressions. The 52 Collection proof cut from the same sheet fetched $2,300.00 in June 2010. Very faint foxing, wisps really, and petty handling. Stamped on back of the card by the American Banknote Company."
