1787 Massachusetts Half Cent. Ryder 6-D, W-5980. Rarity-5+. EF-45 (PCGS).
68.4 grains. Deep golden-brown with pleasing surfaces that reveal no outward marks to the unaided eye. Obverse die crack diagonally downward from rim to upper corner of the letter E, raised dot in field below ground at 6 o'clock, reverse with some faint porosity here and there, though only visible under low magnification. An evenly worn specimen of a rare variety, and a piece with plenty of eye appeal for the grade.
PCGS# 688346. NGC ID: 2B22.
