CC-1. Continental Currency. May 10, 1775. $1. PMG Very Fine 25.
No. 42970. A rare note in higher grades, this evenly circulated example beckons with strong originality and eye appeal, contrary to most Continental notes at a similar grade level. A vignette of an altar encircled by the motto DEPRESSA RESURGIT, which translates to "Though crushed it recovers" assume a prominent position. Penned signatures along with the serial number remains plainly extant, great color is otherwise apparent on a type that is notorious for heavy circulation.
