GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, 1708. Anne (1702-14). NGC MS-65.
S-3610; KM-523.1; ESC-1147. Post-Union issue. An exceptional Gem example of this beloved Anne type, showcasing exceptionally smooth glowing luster in the fields, with a touch of russet color and multicolored iridescence around the outer legends. Although certified at the same grade as the finest example we've sold of this date, this coin obviously exceeds it in terms of eye appeal, with almost no haymarks (tiny black flecks that are remnants of the planchet preparation process) appearing in the surfaces on either side. As such, an ideal type representative from this extremely important era in British history.
