Description
1872 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. AU-55 (PCGS).
A low mintage, rare date, only 3,000 were originally coined. A flashy, semi-reflective brilliance survives in the fields of this well struck and lightly circulated example. Most of the fewer than 150 certified examples (a figure that no doubt includes duplication of submissions) have graded in the AU-55 and AU-58 range. This is a highly attractive and original looking example that will delight any serious collector.
