1898 Barber Half Dollar. Proof-64 Cameo (NGC).
A lovely toned, boldly contrasted near-Gem Proof Barber half dollar. An excellent type coin, this example has a unique toning pattern with golds and blues in the obverse field and splashes of tangerine-orange and red-gold tone coming down from Liberty's eye down to the truncation of her neck. The thickly frosted devices stand in stark contrast to the highly reflective watery fields. An eye appealing example that will attract serious competition.
