Description
1787 New Jersey Copper Whatsit. Made from Maris 6-D.
135.65 grains. The obverse has been tooled with the design elements extensively re-engraved to simulate a "new" variety. It is boldly defined overall with a smooth, olive-brown appearance. The reverse appears unaltered and is more darkly toned and pitted with a scratch on the shield.
