GREAT BRITAIN. Commonwealth (1649-1660). 1653 Shilling. London Mint. Spink-3217. VF-25 (PCGS).
With warm olive outlines to the design elements, otherwise light pearl-gray patina overall. The detail is bit soft at left obverse and reverse, but sufficiently bold for the grade elsewhere. An attractive VF example of this type that saw circulation in colonial America and is particularly popular due to its status as contemporary with Massachusetts Bay Colony shillings.
