Uncut Sheet of (3) Greensborough, North Carolina. T.R. Tate. 18xx $1-$3-$5. Choice Uncirculated.
(Haxby UNL) 18__ Remainders. $1-$3-$5 Complete Sheet Layout. Printed on banknote paper by E. Morris, Philadelphia. Two of the three notes show the obligation as "Payable to P.R. Tate or bearer…" These scarce Greensborough notes were printed for Henry Humphries who was also the proprietor of the Mount Hecla Steam Mills of Greensborough for which notes were also issued. All three denominations have circular portraits of Sir Walter Raleigh at each end. The vignettes are as follows: $1 note Beehive, $3 note Steamer and Sailboat, $5 note early locomotive.
