1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 38-Z, W-5175. Rarity-4. Outlined Shield, Pony Head. AU Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS).
135.5 grains. A very high grade piece with some ground exposure. Even and attractive dark olive with lighter devices. The granularity is fairly minor, a bit more severe on the reverse than obverse. The fields still show good gloss, and the devices are boldly defined. Nicely centered on both sides. This is a tough variety to find sharper than this.
