Fr. 884. 1914 $5/$10 Federal Reserve Note. Dallas. PMG Extremely Fine 40. Dual Denomination Error.
A remarkable $5/$10 dual denomination, which will highlight any advanced collection or error banknotes it enters. This example is the A position note of a cut sheet of four 1914 Burke - McAdoo signed FRN's from the Dallas district seen with a $5 face impression and a $10 back. This mid-grade note offers dark design details and bold blue overprints. The sheetmate from this note, a "D" position graded VF 35 by PCGS Currency with comments of "Pinholes" sold in a January 2018 sale for $24,000 where it was touted as a new discovery, and another note from this sheet sold in a 2017 public auction. We do not believe the fourth note from the sheet has surfaced, and from what we can surmise this appears to be the finest graded out of the dual denomination notes offered at public auction from this district. Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a note whose significance has been long understood by the collecting fraternity. PMG comments "Pinholes".
From the Mid-Continent Collection.
