Description

CC-19. Continental Currency. February 17, 1776. $1/6. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
No. 176301. Plate C. Signed by J. Redman. Printed by Hall & Sellers in Philadelphia, 1776. Wide and balanced margins and perfect printing are seen on this fractional issue of February 1776, whose design theme of Franklin's sundial rebus and linked rings representing the colonies was later used on both the Continental Dollar and the Fugio Cent. The bold red signature of John Redman appears to have been signed yesterday. Also of interest is the misspelling of the word "CURRENCEY" at the right border. This outstanding note is the sole finest graded by PMG and at its sale in April 2015 in a PCGS 66 PPQ holder, likewise sat at the top of the PCGS Population Report. A significant opportunity to own an important piece of Continental Currency and a highlight of this fine offering. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $10000.00- $15000.00
