SYRIA. Phoenicia. Byblos. Addirmilk, 375-351 B.C. AR Shekel (13.25 gms). NGC Ch AU, Strike: 2/5 Surface: 5/5. Edge marks, Double Struck.
HGC-10, 136; Betlyon-18. Obverse: Three hoplites, holding shields, on galley left above waves, with prow ending in lion's head; below, hippocamp left above murex shell, AD ( in Phoenician ) above dorsal fin; Reverse: Lion attacking bull left. A fairly SCARCE type, this example does exhibit some typical doubling, but is largely without handling and offers some enchanting golden toning around the devices.
