ITALY. Lucania. Metapontion. AR Stater (7.89 gm), ca. 540-510 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5.
HGC-1, 1027; HN Italy-1479. Obverse: Ear of barley with seven grains; Reverse: Incuse ear of barley with eight grains. Some typical minor roughness is noted, but this example otherwise remains without any cracks to the flan, and sports some elegant brilliance remaining with the tone.
