Irvington, New York. 1902 Plain Back $5 Fr. 598. The Irvington NB. Charter #6371. PMG Very Fine 25.
An affluent village located on the east bank of the Hudson, just north of Yonkers, Irvington is a part of the town of Greenburgh in Westchester County. While small size notes from this popular bank appear occasionally, a Large Size example is a considerable rarity. In fact, the census lists only three large size notes of any type or denomination for this bank, period. (In 1935, a mere $750 in Large Size notes was shown as outstanding). This attractive mid-grade VF displays four full margins, pen-signed signatures and a clean, well-balanced look.
