Fr. 1501*. 1928 $2 Legal Tender Star Note. PCGS Currency Gem New 66 PPQ.
A stunning replacement Series 1928 Legal Tender Deuce exhibiting everything one might expect from a Gem graded note - incredible deep rich color and embossing, four nicely balanced margins and blazing white paper. If anything PCGS Currency's grade appears conservative as we can find almost nothing we'd change on this one even if we could. As a testament to the quality of this note, it realized an incredible $12,925 when last offered in January 2017. While we don't expect that record to fall, we would not be surprised to see this note exceed our estimate.
