Description

Fr. 268. 1896 $5 Silver Certificate. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 25.
The Educational series Silver Certificates of 1896 are often considered the pinnacle of American banknote design, and it is easy to see why. An allegorical representation of Electricity, Presenting Light to the World on the $5.00 note joined other beautiful motifs on the $1 and $2 notes and truly represented the apex of art on U.S. banknotes. This VF 25 shows signs of light to moderate use, but is otherwise problem-free for the grade. Very good centering and slightly off-white paper lend this note superior eye appeal for the grade.

Estimate: $2000.00- $3000.00
