Description

T-45. Confederate Currency. 1862 $1. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
No. 26335. Plate 6. Printed by Blanton Duncan, Columbia, SC. Blank back. We are proud to again present the single finest example of the extremely popular "Lucy Pickens" ace yet graded by PMG. A heavily circulated note, with most survivors grading between VG and VF, finding any uncirculated example is infrequent and finding a gem is downright rare. This outstanding note more than measures up, with four full borders (with three of them being quite large) bright green "ONE" overprint, crisp, sharp brown ink signatures, and flawless off-white paper. When we sold this note in our August 2017 ANA sale, we made the following comments: " As Confederate currency collecting becomes more mainstream it is becoming more and more apparent just how rare high end Uncirculated Confederate type notes really are. Most types are unobtainable in Gem grades. Such was the case for the T-45 until the recent discovery and grading of this wonderful example which boasts broad margins, boldly printed design elements and a vibrant green protector print. This note is a must have for any collector seeking to construct a top of the line type set." PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $6000.00- $8000.00
