Description

CC-30. Continental Currency. February 17, 1776. $8. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
No. 7105. Signed by J. Shaw Jr. and J. Johnston. Printed in Philadelphia by Hall and Sellers, 1776. Emblem of a harp with 13 strings of different sizes, representing the 13 colonies. Latin motto MAJORA MINORIBUS CONSONANT, which Newman translates "The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony." Four wide and well-balanced margins, crisp and sharp inking and bold signatures give this lovely Continental great visual appeal. Finding these notes in Gem Uncirculated condition is an extremely rare occurrence. The PMG Pop report indicates a 64 EPQ as the runner-up to this Gem 66 EPQ. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $4000.00- $6000.00
