Description

CC-28. Continental Currency. February 17, 1776. $6. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
No. 56809. Signed by W. Coats and J. Williams. Printed in Philadelphia by Hall and Sellers, 1776. Emblem of beaver gnawing a tree under the motto "PERSEVERANDO". The third and last note from an original sheet bearing the serial number 56809. Like the preceding two notes, this is a stunning example, with dead perfect centering on the front, ideal printing and a fresh appearance that belies its nearly 250-year age. In our long history, we cannot remember enjoying the privilege of being able to offer a superior group of Continental Currency. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
From the Mid-Continent Collection.

Estimate: $2000.00- $3000.00
